Looking back on learning this week....
Our Grade Two class had so much fun learning all about Chinese New Year! We discovered how this special celebration marks the beginning of a new year on the lunar calendar and is a time for family, traditions, and good fortune. One of our favourite activities was going back to discover the animal for the year each of us was born. The students were so excited to share their zodiac animals and learn about the unique traits connected to each one!
We also made beautiful lanterns to help us remember the importance of lanterns in the celebration. We learned how lanterns symbolize hope, light, and good luck for the year ahead.
